Is it a factory gas install?
On the factory duel fuel cars they have 2 transmission maps. The petrol one is much more agressive than the lpg one. Not so much in the shift points but in the firmness of the shifts (more line pressure). I can barely feel my AU shift when I'm driving it around on gas but on petrol I can feel every gear shift. If its a bit worn and starting to slip then chances are that's what the problem is. Not enough line pressure to engage a shift and the car just revs right out. Now you can be a bodgy C*** about this of fair dinkum. The bodgy way is to install a shift kit on an almost dead gearbox and the fair dinkum way is to get your gearbox checked out and possibly rebuilt. |
