Hi the price of LPG is already to high considering we sell it to japan for 00.3c a letre.. Unless you are doing more then 20,000 km a year it would take about 10 years to pay for itself as you would go through about 5 or 6 head gaskets in that time... Gas might be cheep at the pump but repaires will cost a lot more...
i own 4 cars lpg\petrol,on 3 cars i have rebuilt the motors to lpg spec,- hi-flow ports, cams, pistons, exhausts and timing.heads are cc/ed and running 10-5 to 1 compression and havnt blown a gasket ina total of 125,000 ks on all 4, have to tune up every 10,000 ks ,minnor.new ride is xr8 done 195,000 when bought, now 256,000 ks - no blown gaskets, cant wait to wear it out,and tweek it,can make some serious mods.  runs 6-7 ks per ltr \ around town better on h-way

Instead of raisint the tax on LPG they can and have reduced the efficency of it by reducing the ratio of good gas (propane) and bad gas (butane) in the end you use more gas to run the car.

Why shouldnt they tax LPG?

It technically is subject to the fuel excise - but an exepmtion has been made the past few years to encourage its take up.

lpg has lower emisions, whish is why they encourage it... i think that justifies a tax cut.

You are paying tax on LPG, it is called GST (LPG had no tax before GST), just that other fuels are double taxed, excise tax and GST, remember the tax to remove all other taxes

Brand differences and batches of LPG can be mixed at different ratios of Propane and Butane.

Coughing and f@rt could be many things, anything from faulty plug leads to incorrect mixtures etc.

LPG is naturally odourless, the bad smell is added so you can smell it.
If it is strong in smell that most probably because mixtures were incorrect.

If I can find a cheap second hand setup for my EL I6 in would be installed by the next weekend, stuff paying around $1.40 litre for ULP.
