Hi everyone, I am quite new to the forum here. I have some queries about PCM and my new LPG system.
Recently, my EF Falcon Futura 95 has been converted to duel fuel syetem by one of the ford service centres. After I have got the car back, my car has a problem with the start system. The car run rough when the engine was cold (this happened before I converted the car) and then sometimes it stalled. After it stalled it was very hard to restart again. This problem just happened after the car has been modified.
I went back to the centre again. They said the PCM is sending some faulty signal so they recommended me to change the PCM and harmonic balancer and quoted me almost 3 thousand bucks.
My questions are:

1. to convert the car to duel fuel system, do they have to change the ECU unit or make any modification on it?

2. Is it just a coincident that the car has this problem just after I converted it, or the problem could be a result of poor conversion.

3. is the PCM the same as ECU?

4. If I bought the second hand ECU or PCM from Ebay, any compatibility concerns?

Finally, thank you in advance and hope to receive some good comments...

My system was installed by them brand new car 11 1/2 years ago.
It's not a great system but works ok when you learn to live with it

Hi Richard, It's not the New Oak Ford, it's the one somewhere in the city...

sounds like a problem with the install. after i had mine done it ran better if anything, after the conversion.
