i recieved my chip today, however the code is 6DGC when my ECU has 6DGD, i thought i would plug it anyway just to see and its running fine, still undecided wether its beneficial or not yet but i will leave it for a while and let it settle in because it was rather sluggish the first ten minute but the last fifteen it ran a bit quicker. Can i expect any problems withe the code being wrong?

saying that mate
if ur code is wropng and shes going fine
then i should have bought the 1 i coulda gotten from ratman
but it was for an el or ef something like that
and i have an ed

so can any1 here verify what the actual difference is in the ef-el 1's to the eb-ed?

would it still run ok if its from an el but gone into an ed?

cheers folks

ps
lets hope for the best burns :D

its back to running s**t now, and i hadnt even touched it since i last drove it so obviously its goin to be inconsistent until i can get the right catch code, my future plans require a new ECU anyway so the chip is up for sale if anyones interested

6DGC and 6DGD run different strategies by 4 or so bytes, however the chip will have the entire code stored on it and therefore your ECU will act as a 6DGD (as the hardware is the same) This is why the "one size fits all" chips are not the best way of playing the tuning game as you dont have the ability to dictate what is on the chip.

If your car is running like s**t, then chances are that its not the ECU, and probably more so mechanical.

The car runs fine when the chip is out, i'll give it another good real clean and see if that changes anything
