Hi,
I've just installed a Crow 223549 in my XH Falcon ute and would like to smooth things out with the idle etc etc...
Spoke to Ray at Crow Cams and he recommends to use a Chiptorque Add-on which is suited to the cam grind and other mods done.

How does the Powerchip Gold compare to the Chiptorque product?

What do you guys recommend?

Thanks.

Go the chiptorque. Chiptorque and Crow have worked together to come up with tunes for their cams so you will get a good tune for a good price and will be able to reprogram it later if you do some more mods.

I wouldnt bother waiting for the edit (chiptorque is an edit and you can get it now).

Well technically the Ford EECIV/V doesn't support boost (well doesn't have boost reference) no matter what chip/edit you have on it, but you can still tune for some boost (most seem to think 6-10psi is OK, after that you really need to look aftermarket).

Chiptourque is the best choice especially with a custom tune. They did a great job of sorting out my problems.

Chiptorque it will be..
I already have a Powerchip Gold on the car and it doesnt behave to well at idle. Spoke to a lady at Chiptorque and it definetly seems to be the way to go, with their collaboration with Crow.
Also a plus is the price, when I bought my Powerchip it was $500, their website is now saying $1900, bloody hell......

WIll order the Chiptorque as soon as I get home......

Cheers All. :D

Hmm, when I bought my EB, it came with a Powerchip Gold 98. Uninstalled, the owner (Mechanic by trade), said that the chip makes no difference at all. To check, i drove the car normally for afew weeks, and then installed the chip, and drove with the chip for about a week. I honestly noticed nothing, so took it out. Having come with the original packaging and reciept, and seeing that this thing was far from cheap, I rang Powerchip, and was put onto a guy called Josh. I explained to him that the chip didn't seem to work at all, he asked if the car ran, I replied yes, as it had, he said, if it ran, then the chip was connected properly, and working. He then said to me, that this chip had the "old" technology, not programmed by powerchip, and was crap, but for a "special price" of $190, I could have the chip programmed with the new technology, which was written by their company. Money back guarantee if I was not satsified, I thanked him, and hung up.

With no real intention of reprogramming the chip.

Ohyea, he also explained, that the Fords ran a very rich mixture, to cope with the use of poor quality fuel, and that his chip would lean out the mix, and increase power, this is great and all, but seriously, I have the original reciept for about $550 for the chip (For0044G), now, $550 isn't really that cheap, to have him tell me that his product wasn't any good, and didn't work very well, how did they sell this thing for somuch?
