Greeeeeetings................
After having some interesting chats with a few people I am very interested in running the Moates Quarterhorse on our heaps of s**t. So I have a few questions. Please take into consideration that with this s**t I am a "numpty" but am keen to learn it all. So please put your answers into slow , easy to digest , bite size pieces. 1. What do I need for it to work correctly? (Links would be nice here) 2. Can it be run on multiple cars? I.E Set it up on my ute , run around with it in for a few weeks tuning it and when happy with the outcome , burn it to a standard J3 chip and fit it to the ute , then set the Quarterhorse up on the Mav and repeat the process? 3. How does it all hookup to be able to do some data logging and what do I need in a laptop for it to work? 4. What else do I need to know? 5. Do I need a different defination for each car? I understand the definition between E series and AU are going to be different , but will I need to buy 2 definitions to tune both the ute and the Ghia? They are both 5.0 , the ghia is auto and ute is manual. The last time I went downt he path of DIY tuning , the person showing me didnt exactly put it into a*** lingo and I started playing with it through Tunerpro and just got nowhere , which led to me getting the s**t and abandoning it. Looking forward to some interesting discussion as I know there is more then just me interested in this. Cheers

Ill bring my laptop around this friday and show you some of my datalogs (hopefully ill have more than three to go over)
Its along process being new to the quarterhorse, unlike eeceditor (which is very easy and newb friendly) it has much much more to adjust (if need be). It will do pretty much anything you need, handle pretty much any setup you could throw at it. Now i havnt tuned to a j3 chip yet from the QH, but if you have the calibration and strategy you can chuck it from the ute to the mav and it will do it easy. I havnt installed the wideband yet but it can be intigrated into the facory wiring to the ecu. Theres abit more information here http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11323999 http://www.fordforums.com.au/showpost.p ... tcount=528 http://www.fordforums.com.au/showpost.p ... tcount=555 https://www.moates.net/ QuarterHorse $249 Binary Editor 2012 $100 usd Dongle $71 usd Innovate DB-Blue Gauge / LC-1 Kit - P/N: 3795 - #3795 $209 usd And shipping which i think was $30 usd Then you need the calibration and strategy, 5.0 ED is the man to talk to in those regards. http://www.fordforums.com.au/member.php?u=2102672 And at every step of the way ill help regardless. |

If I can get a QH up and running anyone can. It's pretty easy and as long as you have someone who can give you advice, then you're set.
