My EL Fairmont Ghia goes high on reset and takes about 250-350 K's to come down to my normal 13, I thus do not reset

yeh mine takes a good half a tank to get to my normal value of approx 14L/100kms

its normaly for it to skyrocket at first, its the way averages work....u need a lot of values for it to work

ie.

average of
100 10 10 10 10
is 28

but average of more numbers of
100 10 10 10 10 10 10 10
is 21.25

dont know if that actually proves anything. oh wait yes it does! if u speed off from a servo (or even accelerating a *little* bit) ull get the big number. it will then take a long time to come back down

if its anymore than half a tank or so tho...maybe u do have some screwed up problems

like data mine said, EA-ED reads 99.9 when you're stopped and i dont know if EF-EL do that or if they show something different like litres/min (injection rate) but try resetting your trip while you are cruising so the first reading it gets is 5-10 instead of your stationary 80...

the ba's trip computer reads litres/hour when your standing still.
but it doesent seam to have a big jump on the average like yours it usaly go's up to about the mid thirty's.
my ef doent have a trip comp so i can't test it.
