XR9UTE, yer mate it was me, thanks for the help. I'm still looking around for something, I'm a little unsure about adjusting the crank angle sensor I asked few people and they said don’t do it, but with this sort of stuff everybody has there own ideas, but no ones been able to offer a suitable solution.
As with Hyena I think I’ll go with the Greddy E-manage, I’ve got a mate that is going to look at importing it today for me, hopefully I’ll have some good news (and price)about it tonight/tomorrow. Would have been really good if the TwEECer was available now for the Aussie I6, but I really cant wait.. Cheers Tim |

Let us know how you go with the emanage Tim, if you're going to import one me might be able to go halves on postage or something.
There's a guy selling one 2nd hand on ebay at the moment, I might bid on that

just be careful about the one on E-bay, if its this one, http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 55034&rd=1
All he is doing is importing them and if you read all his add he will only start the import process after you pay him, about a 2-3week turn around. You might as well import it yourself and save some money, no middle man.. Cheers Tim |

Just kidding.. You will still need the support tools to do the programming.. Good luck.. |

I emailed the guy and apparently he misplaced the cd
It's got the cable though which is half the battle, all I'd need is to "acquire" a copy of the cd. (support tool = special cable + cd) I'd have to get it all properly dyno tuned anyway and they have the software to do it. When I spoke to the bloke about it he said once it's optimally tuned there's nothing to touch anyway. Still, I'll be wiring it in myself and I would have liked to have a bit of a fiddle with it

Would they also say don't adjust your distributor if you had one? It is the same thing!....Morons! So have any of you guy's emailed Mike yet? I'll check out this emanage thingy. Cheers, Pete. |

Thanks XR9ute, those seem to be around the $700 mark, paying that much wouldnt I be better of just buying a full piggyback ECU???
Also anyone looked at the microtech ECU? Seem to be kinda cheap... Thanks again. O, and I sent off an e-mail to the Tweecer people.. |

Well I don't like any kind of piggy back ECU. As far I'm concerned they're all junk. That e-manage thing sounds crude as, and by the time you add up the costs ie software,harness,ecu...it's just too much. You may as well go for complete aftermarket engine management system.
In your case you're already using an FMU for your fueling so I think the DIS-4 would do the trick plus it will give you a higher spark energy than you have already...perfect for a turbo aplication and you'll be able to keep your plug gap wide. Then, if TwEECer support does come or if not you go aftermarket complete you still have an excellent ignition system. Pete. |

Ok, waiting to find out about the MSD stuff, but just spoke with Rank Rotary in Melbourne, they were very very helpful. They have setup a Wolf 3d in a number of falcons. Buying the Wolf is about $1100 and then the falcons apparently need an ignition module around $110. All very cheap, for one of the best setups you can get.. Will be cheaper then the E-manage and with more features.

I'd use EMS before I'd use Wolf. Wolf support is up to s**t and seems they can't drive most ignitions because their output driver design is s**t and not configurable.
Having said that most aftermarket systems are sorely lacking in their ability to work with Ford sensors and actuators....they really need a rev up in this area. Pete. |
