Is it possible to remove traction control and the speed limiter on my 2003 XT Falcon. Can my flash tuner be programmed for this? As it is an XT there isnt even a button to turn traction control off, would it be possible to add one?
Any info would be appreciated... as I cant do good burnouts and the car cruises on the 200km/h speed limiter...

And some wonder why there are so many accidents where the cars are impossible to reconise. Public roads are not designed for high speeds like race tracks are. How many trees and power poles do you see on the edge of a race track or on coming cars for that matter?????

Maybe its for when I visit my brother in the Northern Territory, no speed limits... or if I take it to the track... According to the FORD handbook, only speeds over 200km/h would be dangerous... (with stock suspension etc) Can anyone answer my question? Or do you wanna talk about how wonderful it is to drive 40kmh in 60kmh, because that is a safer speed to drive...

(((((((Any info would be appreciated... as I cant do good burnouts and the car cruises on the 200km/h speed limiter...))))) You must go to the NT a fair bit so you can do burn outs and cruise.... If anyone actually helps you here should know better. See a performance race shop or something. |

yes, flash tuner can disable both traction control and the speed limiter. but youll end up as a pasty red mess if you top out on a puplic road

Do you think it would be possible to have a switch to turn traction control completely off and on, or would it have to remain off. Its useful most of the time...

If it hasn't got a switch, it doesn't have traction control...
Speed limiter is plain silly.

XT Falcons, had as an option, traction control, but no on off button. If I hold the brake and excelerator, it will not rev over about 3000rpm.

i agree about the stupidity of removing the speed limiter (personally I don't see why there set at such a high 200, should be lower). bbut in reality he hasn't said he's going to use it onpublic road, and what he's wanting to remove it for is irrelevant to the question hhe's asked.

If it's optioned, theres a button. That is not traction control, thats a combination of grip and the IRS. It just keeps pushing that tire harder into the ground the more you accelerate. You have to get the wheel (SS.. suckers) spinning before you really try to ramp it up. They are hard to get going (even in burnout box at the strip), but once you get it over like 2500, it will spin all day. Bounce that brake pedal. You can't rev them over 3k in neutral, to discourage pyscho D-bombers.

The flash tuner changes that, it revs to 6000rpm, in neutral, and all other gears. Where is the button then? As soon as the wheels start spinning, it will not rev harder, except in the wet or on dirt, then it doesnt stop spinning until you hit the bitumen and it has instant traction.

You dont have traction control dude!!!
It's called grip! If it had non-switchable traction control, as you say, it wouldn't spin on anything, at all. It takes effort, but you can get a BA XT spinning it's lone wheel with 17's on.
