what do you guys think of shells new unleaded 91 and 95 octane.

shell claims there new fuel give better fuel economy at no extra cost,it does this by reducing the friction on the pistons.

is this a gimmick or wat

you dont get more bang for your buck from LPG. It has less energy per litre than 92 RON unleaded petrol.

Dont confuse Octane rating with Energy. They're 2 different things.

i just topped my dads van up after a 1600 "major service" (yeah d**k just change the struts while ur at it) and ill tell u how much he gets out of the tank compared to the old fuel.

and LPG has less energy release per litre compared to Unleaded. So in comparison......less unleaded fuel is required to produce the same amount of energy as an lpg for a certain amount of energy output. so more milage out of unleaded for the same amount LPG. i prefer unleaded over LPG. and diesel over unleaded.

just remember about this thread. anyways came back from sydney. my dad managed to get about 600km out of 60 litres of petrol on the new petrol. he got 510 before they came out...all on freeway driving cause we went to sydney twice. once before and after the new fuel was introduced
