its actually called a sequential air intake, im not sure where the name came from but that was how they were advertised... its basically an air intake off the bonnet, aditional to your snorkel...

It got the name 'sequential' from the show car that it first appeared on, as in the links 6 and 7 posts above.

Nice setup you got there taxi5L 8-)

Looks like it must ram a lot more air into the airbox over standard. Whats it made out of?

thanks KWIKXR its made of fibreglass and gets heaps of air in with the deflector pushing air up towards it,always get cleaning k&n out from all the bugs and other junk that gets in there..

phill

I always wanted to do something over the top like that but i dont know how to fiberglass so i can see what i can do ! Any major points that i should know about? Was there a major difference in power with that? As to the stock one !

Was told it was a BA XR8 AirBox Cost me 150 from the wreckers and has stndard large mouth snorkel and second behind headlight so more effective than the stock air box. plus cut 2/10's off my 1/4 mile time- so effective as well.

yer it's alot smaller but it's shaped perfectly, i think it would increase flow. a smaller area without being too restrictive will actually increase volocity due to less turbulence. it should be reversed with an inverted pod to make a slight secondary 'ram' effect.
not that i'm a scientist or an aeronautical engineer though correct me if i'm wrong.

I was bored today,so i made up this intake set-up.I used a BA XR6T turbo intake pipe, cut it down a bit,and fitted it in between the snorkel and the other section of intake pipe.
Im not going to use it on the street, just at the drags when i go,like in a few weeks,it does make the car more responsive.

Yeah i wouldnt mind getting a XR6T snorkel, thinking of getting a AU intake pipe from the throttle body. The XRT intake pipe i used and modified i got from Ford when i was working there, was a part replaced under warranty, that was never required to be sent back to Melbourne, nothing wrong with it but,so might as well use it!
