Im only going to use that set-up when i race it at the drags,im not keen running it like that on the street with no filter,i'l have the normal airbox setupfor the street,im not expecting it to make a huge difference,i made it for just something to do.

Why do people think the air is cleaner at the drag strip than on the roads?
If you want something that might actually make a difference, get an EL intake and replace the thin piping with some 3" stuff, then add a BA XR6T snorkel. $40 for the snorkel + whatever you can get teh EL intake for, and some 3" piping.

If you had that setup on the road like i had it without the filter, all sorts of rubbish (eg,gravel, rocks etc) could get sucked into the intake and throttle body,at the drags thats less likely to happen, thats the way i see it anyway. When i take it down in a few weeks,i'l see if it makes any difference,if not its fine,i got the pipe for nothing anyway,so big loss.I'd like to turbo my eventually, now that would make the car go better! lol.

even if it was clean is it worth the risk for a small insignificant gain, even though its free i wouldnt do it
if you want a possible free gain and its allowed detach the exhaust after or before the cat
just remember it doesnt take much to kill the engine, especially with the cai acting as a bug scoop

however thats just my reasoning

really like that setup, I wonder it would help my old 302 wheezer at all??

for the price I reckon it would be better then the stock ef ghia intake tube - which I wonder how it gets any flow with no bloody grill!

Havn't noticed a huge difference in power, but theres deffinantly an improvement in throttle response,
The engine is basically stock apart from the pacies, I'm sure the difference will be much more noticable once the new cam goes in
