184RWKW to 204RWKW so in my opinion the airbox intake upgrade would be well worth it

Yow, lol.

One of the first "mods" I did, AU XR intake snorkel.

Does a full BA intake setup do anything for an EF's performance?

That is a dam good job on the catch can, would do a good job cooling by the looks too Troymod. I've seen some pretty good looking jobs done with a stainless thermos etc haha, couple of hose fittings, one of those mini filters, and your away. Probably save some oil (.0020202mL) but more importantly keep you octane up and your intake clean. I think if you(FIEND) thrash your car 24/7 it would be well worth while.

Also...JESUS...at the removal of lid=20rwkw

Tickford snorkel for the win

To be honest i didnt notice anything with the BA intake piping setup on my EF, still felt very much the same with maybe a hint of high end response not that its needed anyway. Noticed more of a difference running a 3" flex tube from the vent in the front bar up through the bottom off the airbox. The EF loves it cold on nights

Mate --- The biggest thing about the EF to BA pipe conversion isn't that bit --- It's getting rid of the bloody snorkel to the air box. About the only thing the BA pipe work has over the EF is that it doesn't soak up all that engine heat. Mind you, both EF and BA provide better flow than the EL 90 degree bend slap bang before the throttle....

Like you say though - with it's better breathing you notice it a lot on chill still nights. Sure thing. Mine goes bloody well in those conditions too mate - Even when raining come to that.

NZEA --- HEY MATEY - Long time, no see and all that lovey dovey crap.

Anyways --- I've been looking at putting some sort of a catch unit in between the rocker cover and intake manifold for some time as I like the suction taking the fumes and crap out of the rocker cover (and therefore the crank too via the return oil cavities etc) but I dislike the amount of oil that gets sucked up and spat into the BBM... God only knows where it goes to after that....

do you even need a pcv system on the other side of the river there fiend ? coz i know you don't need cat convertors... pretty slack on emmissions over there, must be all that lush greenery to purify the air...

Hey Guys

Yer the tube is an oil catch can, there is no room on the cold side of the motor and I wasn't going to mount it on the hot side so it sits up front using the thermo bolt holes.
As you have worked out, there is no connection between the rocker and the intake. I just had the intake ceramic coated ands its super smooth and clean on the inside so I wasn't going to pump it full of oil. Not exactly legal, but neither is my exhaust, ride height, tint etc. etc.

The spikes were just a bit of fun kind of fills up the empty spot between the rocker and catch can. I brought 6 for the serp cover but my old man made the two which fill the factory airbox bolt holes and the one that holds down my intake pipe. He also made the adapter piece for the dagger handle, the spike power steering cap and modified the oil cap (if you look in my gallery you can probably see what it looked like, it was red)

Anyway
have a good one

I think that, basically, if it was on the car as original equipment you probably should have it (or better). However, I don't know of a single Nissan driver with a cat of any description (but there was a pile of old cats being thrown at metal recyclers). I, personally, have seen a cat. Not on any of my cars mind you, but I have seen one (for a very short period it was behind a twin turbo something or other that someone bought, and then it sat on his driveway for a week...)

Yeah... We have plenty of green stuff to offset the emissions... (NOT!) All those cows and sheep we have actually mean little old green NZ actually pollutes the planet as much as the next country.... And on a per capita basis, probably worse than most.

Anyways, thanks for clearing up my interest in your setup XH XR6. Just how do you get "warrant of fitness" or "roadworthy" tests done?

Easy. Keep it in rego and I don't need a roady. I try not to attract to much attention so I don't get a defect.

I only need a roadie if I sell it or get busted so I try not to do either.
