Cheers, yeah got to the counter with all the pipes from the expensive rack and noticed a couple of what I wanted were marked down in the bargain box, unwrapped them and checked for dings etc, couldn't find anything wrong with em, so put the full price ones back :D

Im interested to see what people have done with the pipe when it goes into the actual airbox itself, does anyone have pics?

Currently mine is like this

Playing with the idea of a bell-mouth inside, might have a go at turning this offcut into one

Finally got around to adjusting the intake so it doesn't touch the bonnet.

I used a piece of PVC pipe, heated it up in boiling water and pushed it over a port bottle to make a trumpet shape. I'm sure it's not ideal but it certainly looks like it would work a heap better than straight pipe.

I've made a few refinements to my setup (I originally posted here about this time last year!).

I've applied some insulation material to the "hot" side of the airbox and made mesh grilles for the snorkel mouth and the CAI bellmouth. This was done after cleaning out my K&N one day and finding about a good solid handful of dirt, little rocks and bugs.

The other day I cleaned my filter out as part of the 260,000km service - this time the bugs were mashed into smaller pieces

I added the Territory one today. I got the Intake, flexible tubing, spacers and breather elbow at Ford Auto Salvage Pty Ltd
121 Westall Rd Clayton South VIC 3169
ph: (03) 9547 8422
all for $88.00
Before with standard intake:

After with the spacers shortened by 4mm front and 5mm rear (to compensate for the cable saddle) Now sits right on the intake manifold:

^^^ Never heard of that mod before - what kind of improvement does it make?

The Territory intake is far less restrictive than the original one. If you take the original off and turn it over the underside where it crosses the manifold is moulded inwards. Looks like someone has pushed their knuckles into it. The territory one maintains a smoother airflow. Ive also got the SS induction, Typhoon lower intake and a K&N filter, Lukey headers, High flwo Cat, and a full 2.5" system. So now it all breathes and sounds like it should, while maintaining the factory look.
