if its a stock motor then it wont make any difference at all. look at the BA XR6T, their air intake is pretty much the same size so i dont see it being a problem on a N/A 6

And since the other person that told me that has a degree in mining engineering, I'm inclined to believe that it's true. My motor will have a cam and full exhaust in a few weeks, but I still don't think that will affect it. I did start making up a steel adapter for it last night, if I finish it off I'll post it up here...basically just goes from the airbox to 3 inch silicon piping.

you dont need to make a replacement for the adaptor, you can just cut the inside out of the adaptor with a sharp blade, its only rubber, and you can remove enough rubber to get achive close to 3" and retain the stock part

Benno The Viking wrote: Anyone got any tips on how to make a larger replacement adapter to go from the airbox outlet to the start of the rest of a 3 inch intake on an EL? As I live on a dust road I don't want to trust the way Autospeed did theirs of flaring out a bit of 3 inch PVC...All I can think is making a metal replacement adapter and sealing it with an o-ring, or just lumping it and use the stock adapter. It's 55mm but only for a very tiny amount, and apparently that WON'T affect flow very much at all. There are 4 screws on the airbox lid, undo those and take out the adapter and the 3inch pipe should go through easy |

3" will slip into the neck, but the internal diameter reduces to 55mm as he said previously, its easy to open up...

Yeah at the moment I just have some pipe, I'm not sure what size but around 3 inch, in it but it's still 55mm inner diameter, like you said I can just cut the rubber interior part out, I'll grab a spare one at the wreckers next time I'm there.

I'm pretty sure that all overhead cam 6 cylinder falcons run the same size from E to B not sure about F series. In regards to 'mouth' size anyway.

use the search function. plenty of info out there. makes little to no difference as the speed of which the air is moving is too quick to transfer heat
