Pod hiding away inside there.. All back in.. Dude that looks pretty good, but how does it work? does it keep a cool air flow? what is it made out of? |

XR6TOY wrote: Nope, your worse off for doing that, you are just drawing engine bay temp air. not cold air from outside the bay. While you may have a pod on there, its drawing hotter air than what the stock system you removed was, sorry to say but you have reversed engineered your car.

Strange then how the gauge is slightly lower than what it was before

What the engine temp gauge? thats not a measure of intake air temps. You have effectively reduced your engines volumetric efficiency.
I assure you, you will have lost power with this setup.

Yeah, hot engine bay air straight up the intake. Build yourself a cai, you'll feel a difference.

XR6TOY wrote: By just having the pod hanging in mid air you have done 3 things. 1. Lost the ram air effect that you get from the standard snorkel and air box assembly. 2. Lost any way for cool air to get into your intake. You are now just sucking hot dirty air from the engine bay. 3. Set yourself up for the most obvious and easy defect ever written. Pod filter. Most definitely a fail. You may not be feeling a difference but you have definitely gone backwards. No point but in listening to any of us but. We have only done this s**t many times and are allowed to drive from NSW to SA by ourselves , not have the car transported because Mum and Dad said. Yep we know nothing.

And in the end, the topic is cold air intakes, which yours is not.

Yep we know nothing. How childish mate, honestly. Considering they got a smashed windscreen coming down, yeah I do thank them for putting mine on the back of a truck instead. And also, the law here isn't the same as NSW was. You can have them so long as they are secured. Learn your facts |
