I have a issue that only happened yesterday the keys where in the ignition motor was running. The front doors where locked by the kids pressing the front door lock button and then they got out of the car thru the back doors what happened was the car was total locked engine running and no spare key's as we were away from home.

We had to break one of the windows rear door quarter window to unlock the doors.

Has this happened to before to other people?

I later checked this at home and found out that if the front doors are locked from the inside and you get out the car thru one of the rear doors and shut it you will be locked out of the car?

Is this a fault or is this a program issue in the smartlock system as l am not sure about how these things work.

Smart lock as nothing to do with the door lock system.

The remote Fob is merely a keyless access feature.
Unfortunately the rear doors dont trigger the front doors to unlock.

The worst part is the Rear quater window you broke, Its cheaper and easier to break a rear door window, although this sounds crazy but the quarters are glued in and are a b**ch to replace/remove.

It may pay for you to have a hidden remote or key somewhere on the car.

your booklet tells you how.
i think its turn off, then to acc/on? and press demister 3 times in 5 secs or something and after the door lock cycles press the lock button on the remotes that you want to program. the door locks will cycle each time you successfully program a remote, but you have to do them all in one go, one after another. otherwise it will forget the remote when you repeat the procedure.
