I have a 97 EL Futura. I cannot use my remote (with new battery) to lock/unlock car doors, the interior light , the power window and the radio are all out. When I turn the key to start, all lights on dash board are on except the Smart Lock light. In fact, the Smart Lock light has never come on.The battery cranks and the engine turns for a few seconds then stopped. What could have gone wrong? Please help. I am very desperate as it is due for registration in a few days. I used the car earlier in the morning and everything was fine. The Smart Lock has suddenly turned dead!

The interior light fuse blew and inactivated the smart lock system. I had the car checked by two mechanics. The first one said all fuses ok and suggested me to replace the smart lock module for around $800. I had the car towed to another autoshop and the blown fuse was identified and replaced. I was only charged $20 for the service.
