AU six cyl DOM: 11/99 Slow or no-go starter motor.
Neutral start switch tests OK. Battery voltage is healthy. Starter works fine if the solonoid wire is removed and a live feed is connected to the solonoid terminal. Reconnect the original solonoid wire and the problem returns. What are the chances that a faulty BEM would cause a slow or no-go starter motor I wonder? |

Slow, no. No-go, possibly.
Have you had random stalling?

sorry to hi-jack a thread, and a 6 month old one at that.
My 01 AU2 XR8 ute has been stalling unexpectedly recently, can happen at traffic lights and also while driving, normally starts fine in the morning, but once it gets to operating temp, just suddenly dies, battery light comes on, have to sit for a couple of minutes before it starts again. Had battery checked, its fine, took the ute out on saturday after checking all wiring just to test it, stalled just around the corner from home, wouldn't restart, had full power to accessories, but starter motor wouldn't engage. had to tow it home with our grand vitara. been through the workshop manual, get the feeling the smartsheild is playing up. any ideas guys? sound like a familiar occurance? |
