Probably best info would come from a sparky who has some idea of Traction Control on an AU.

The smartshield light is staying on in my car when the key is in the on or start position. But it flashes away normally in the off position. The injectors are not opening.

The ecu is from a TS50 with everything hooked up at the moment except the aircon press switches wiring and the traction control wires, these are there but not hooked up.

The car the ecu was out of was in a roll-over, is there something in the ecu that needs to be reset, I heard crumblydores have something like this.

Will the traction control not being hooked up cause me grief? Or the aircon wires mentioned?

I'd really doubt it.. I've seen EEC-V's run with lots of s**t missing.. even vital things like MAF, MAP, ECT, IAT, HEGO.. I cant see how something which is no more than accessory would have any effect.

So is the ECU for the TS50 basically the same as any AUII/AUIII V8? Have u tried other V8 ECU's? I know the maps wont be *ideal* but its a good starting point.

I borrowed a S3 200kw manual ecu from MacArthur Parts, but still had the same problems.

Sounds like you'll be needing the BEM and the ignigion barrel from the donor car. Smartlock sux doesn't it (in terms of retrofir).

Ok.. so its not the ECU.

What about BEM, Ign, Keys.. I know you've had them all re-coded a million times.. maybe worth borrowing a S3 AU and trying your BEM, Ign and Key to see if you can start their car.

Raiki, I have the original BEM and Transciever, and newly cut and programmed keys.

Waggin, Might have to go see Tony and borrow the front harnesses out of an AU V8, hook all the power and earths up, just lay the harnesses over the car.
