Hi all
I have just got my Sniper Flash Unit from BPT Motorsport today and uploaded the 98oct performance program and WOW what a difference. Ive gained 35rwkw and lost 0.68 a second of my 1/4 mile time with is now 13.45 sec
The ZF 6 speed shifts a little quicker and harder. I all so had 67 litres in the tank at the time I uploaded the program and after coming back from a couple of power runs it jumped up to 92 litres, not bad I thought. :D :D
You can see more facts on my car at
http://www.bseries.com.au/cgi-bin/index.cgi and the car is called MANTERRAY
A full website on the car is coming soon with all the mods ive done so far and made on the wish list.
Thanks to the People at BPT Motersport they were good to deal with and answered all my queires, thanks guys.
I think this unit is better and has more potential than the older Flash units that are out there so give it a go.

If you're selling stuff, it'd be nice to spell properly.

Plus besides the user tuning of the sniper (if you buy the software and 'bullet' - did you?) they can do the exactly same things as the CAPA flash box (after all they are just modifying the parameters of the stock ECU).

Hey, I'll be the first to say that I am not a good speller and no I am not selling sh*t and yes we all now that the Flash Units just change some of the ECUs perameters to gain some more power and maybe get a little more fuel economy.
But hey we all can't go out and get an 06 BF GT-P, some of us are on a budget and do the best we can with what we've got.

It came across you were trying to flog the sniper kit. Apologies if you're not.

But really, they and the CAPA box have exactly the same capabilities - those which are limited by the stock ECU. A 35KW gain is good on a XR8, I checked your info, and was the gain, after the mods were done, ie. the gain was purely due to the tune?

The bonus with sniper is you can buy a copy of the turning software for a price much more reasonable than CAPA want for the SCT software. But if you don't know anything about tuning that's a bad idea, because you CAN cause damage.

And hey, where'd I bring money into it? I don't like paying more for stuff than I have to. And I like doing most things myself, one for the cash savings, and two for the pride in ones own workmanship.

How did a tune put more fuel in your tank?

Well if you look into it ,when you upload a modified ECU program to give you a bit more power and may be a little more fuel economy your ECU recalculates what its using per km and what it has left in the tank and comes up with a resalt. That’s how come I got that resalt with my XR8.
Youed think with 1028 post OBS35N would no something about this with his welth of nolage.

Hay as for the spelling Y don’t you come off a bike at over 80km and slam into castrol corner Oren park back first and see how you like it when your in hospital for 5 month rebuilding your life learning it all over agene EG:- reading and righting and see how you go.
And as for the old news well DERRRRR I no Im one thousands that have dune it but the Sniper Unit is new to the market and Im just letting people now how it is going for my XR8. And it seem to have more potential than some other flash units that are out there.

look im sympathetic to you if this has infact taken place but there really is no way i could know this or prove it. actually i could cause im working in nebo ATM ha ha.

however it is accepted that the best, and very cost effective, way of doing things is with the capa system. the capa system is also better supported and can be tuned at a multitude of places rather than just BPT.

this is the last i wanna comment about this as my blood pressure is a tad high.

does anyone else agree with me that the quality of posts on here has dropped over the last 6 months..... oh well have fun modding
