well i tried a new ecu and it made no difference.......i have replaced my coolant temp sensor, but still the same problem:
when i start the temp guage goes straight to red
both fans comon and remain on......i have since disconnected them as the weather is cool
revs travel up to around 1100 at idle
gearchange has become very rough
fuel consumption is very heavy
i have also lost my high beam around this same time, so im thinking short somewhere
anyone with a similar problem..fix

i have a series 2 1994 ef falcon wagon, 4.0l 6cyl

Check your earth on the ECU. Also check your engine earth strap.
