hey i couldnt work it out too well ...
how did you do yours did you cut your old loom and just link up to the old wiring ? can you help me out and like tell me which wire goes to which wire ? i have the diagrams for both but a couple wires are different on each... so im unsure of which and where to put them. maybe if you can help me by looking at the ford ecu wiring diagram and write to me which number goes to which number on the stinger ecu ?? if you can do that it would help lots... are you running everything off the ems ?

No problem, I'll give you pinouts and connection numbers for both ECU's. There is a couple of wires that are different colours but just ignore that as long as you have the right pinouts you should be OK. I plan to make up a small harness that I can plug in so that If I want to take the EMS out I just inplug it and plug Factory one back in.
I plan to just run engine management eg. fuel, ignition and boost. The factory ecu will look after everything else as per normal. I have to wire in my wide band O2 sensor, air and water temp sensors. I was planning to use factory ones but the EMS does'nt seem 100% compatable its messing with the instrument cluster so I'll run seperate ones that I know work with the EMS. They need to be accurate as they are needed for the tuning and correction tables I will get back to you as soon as I have everthing sorted and running should'nt be to much longer. |

Be aware that the factory ECU needs to be left in place to run ABS, CC, Dash,Trip computer etc.
I have a 8860 in my EF, and had issues with dash, aircon, abs. These only really occured when i went to coil packs. The amount of interrelated signals is mind blowing. I am still having ABS issues, but will work through them. I also have one guage that isnt playing nice, my oil pressure is off the dial, even before the car is cranked. My guess, its getting an earth from somewhere it shouldnt. Brett

Almost there I have had to make some changes to get everything working. Had to install a seperate engine temp sendor and air temp which are needed to use with supplied correction tables. Ems interfers with signal to dash and give a false reading on temp gauge. Tacho is working fine. Other changes that I have made are. EMS now runs fuel pump and thermofans. All pretty straight forward. The only thing I'm not sure of at the moment is if the Ghia trip computer that I've installed is showing accurate range etc. I will monitor it but it will be out because I'm using 42lb injectors anyway. I have been working on the tuning maps engine is idling beautifully just working on fuel map to get the engine running better under load with the larger injectors until my tuner comes up from Melbourne. Our target is 300 rwkw. It's making 180 rwkw running standard ECU and injectors on 6.5 psi so there's plenty of potential left. I will try and do up write up and diagram and list the things that I've changed things hopefully over the weekend once I get the engine running nicer. cheers Lil_Macka |

i'm only running 6psi on the standard ecu and stuff and i like the power so with enough luck the ems will give alot more

The EMS like most tuning tools is only as good as the person using the laptop. But yes once tuned properly you will see an increase in performance over what you currently have and should be more economical as well. |

Ok here are the pinouts that I've used to install the EMS to an EL. Pinouts maybe different if you do not have an EL.
EEC V Pinout EL EMS Pinout Pin wire colour Pin wire colour Power Source & Ground 57 Red (Power) 10 Red 60 Black (Gnd) 9 Black (Gnd) TPS Connection 47 Green/Black 6 White/Black 26 Orange/Black 22 Red/Blue O2 Sensor 29 Green/Blue 19 Grey 49 Grey/White 5 Orange Fuel Injectors (You will have to cut these not splice) 58 Light/Brown 23 Yellow 59 White 11 White Distributor 56 Dark Brown (looks Black) 8 Green You will need to source a single ignition ignitor any kind will do as long as it's a single you should be able to find one from a magna from the wreckers. If your car uses EB engine and Air Temp sendors you could try and connect these to the EMS the EL sendors were incompatable With the EMS. I would suggest that you buy VN sendors and fit these they seem to be more compatable with the EMS Ignitor Connection You will need to cut Pink/Dark Blue wire that cannects to coil and join to ignitor. You will then need to connect ignitor to Primary Ignition output from EMS pin 14 Pink I also use the EMS to control Idle Speed Control (read help files to setup this function) 21 Grey/White 4 Violet/Red Fuel Pump 22 Brown/Green 16 White/Red I also use EMS to run thermofans but the EEC V does this I just wanted to control what temp they kick in at. Hope this helps good luck LiL_Macka |

hey mate thanks for that, can i just confirm that the pin out numbers are
Standard ECU / Stinger EMS ? Yea I will try the eb senders and stuff but if not I have a mate thats wrecking a VN so that will be useful.

So question is : Cant you just use the TFI as the ignitor? - if your runing EA/B/D/L gear anyway?
The TFI does what a seperate ignitor does in other cars. Nigel |
