Yesterday I pushed the limits and almost ran out of fuel, the trip computer even said I should not be going anywhere by saying 0 range. However, I have now put fuel in ($30.00) and the trip will NOT recalculate the range, it is staying on 0 and bloody beeping at every friggen start!!!!!!
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get this damn thing working right because pressing Reset on it doesn't.... Cheers RD

You can pull the battery on it but there could be an easier way. Does your fuel gauge read right? Not sure if the two are related.

Thanks guys
Johnathon: I'll see what happens tomorrow... nalane: I thought of that but it's a pain to do (yea I know, lazy bastard ). My fuel gauge is usually pretty good, although when I only put in 20 or $30 it's reeeaaallll slow to come up to it's level for the first few restarts.

LOL, this happens to me all the time.
It will either not reset or will after you fill it up. BenJ

Been there before, the non fiddling way i found to fix it is usually to fill it up to the brim, that usually wakes it up. Dont hold me to that though

On my old DA whenever I used to put $10 in it would take a few minutes to adjust the kays to empty.
If I put more than $10 in it would calculate it instantly. I assumed it was because it would assume that any small increases in fuel level could be caused by petrol sloshing about or the vehicle being on an incline or hill and therefor it requires a constant reading of the extra few liters you just pumped in and after a few minutes in comes to the conclusion that there in fact is additional fuel in the tank rather than the car being on an angle or petrol moving about in the tank. My XF ute however, with an interior and trip computer from an FE LTD tends to calculate small amounts of fuel instantly.. And I run that on LPG mostly..

Same here, as KyleBardell said, i ran dead empty and had to get my mate 2 tow me home and the next day i got 15 bucks in my jerry can and filled her up and and it gave me 2 bars on the fuel gauge and only said 14 on the trip comp, i went like 5 hrs like this and then gave it a full tank rev'ed the f**k outa it and bam. All good

Ok, this thing is just on another planet.....
Having it on "instant usage" shows me my car is using 60l/100 when lightly pushing the throttle to, say, go up a small rise. Not mashing the throttle through the floor, light push. At idle it hovers between 0 and 10!!!! Now, to be fair my fuel gauge take forever to rise when not over 1/2 a tank but still, is this trip computer knackered? I have another if I need to replace it...... Cheers'RD
