I have the line pressure on my EF XR6 wagon up to about 210 on Power (WOT, 5500RPM) with no problems. It's tight, not quite chirping in the 1-2 shift, but the trans may be a little tired after 310,000 kms.

Just wonder how much more I can go with my line pressures in both Econo and Power Mods

Below is a screen shot of my pressures so far.

Any more information will be great.

You don't mention your engine mods, but the more torque you are producing, the more line pressure you will need to get a firm shift. If you are getting a bang or chirp on shifting, back it off a little, otherwise use what works.

Cheers,
Jason

Sorry Jason

My El Fairmont is standard engine wise except for a 2.5" Mandrel Bent exhaust, extractors and a K&n Panel Filter. I do not feel. I need to do a cam or any engine mods at the moment, Only just done 200k and still runs sweet.

Guys i need a little bit of assistance please if anyone can help me, i'm hesitating to pick up an offered EL ecu because the 4 digit is 5DCA which i'm pretty sure is an EF ecu isn't it? If anyone could reply that'd be great, just don't wanna waste the money ( Sorry for my inexperience )

ef-el-ecu-catch-codes-t30186.html
going by this its ef. one easy way to check is to see how many rows of pins there are. ef = 4 rows
el = 3 rows

4 & 5 Prefix are for EF, 6 prefix is EL, prefix is followed by 3 letters.

There are some XH ECU's listed witha 5 prefix.

5DCA is for a EF Fairmont Ghia Series II.

I'll go against the trend ITT and will say a 5 will be an XH ute. If its a 60 pin connector you can count me right!

Cheers,
Jason

Yeah, both people tried to sell me an EL ECU and after making them count the rows of pins, that saved alot of BS, thanks guys.

Information on your own site lists it as 5DCA for EF Fairmont Ghia Series II Auto 4.0L 3.45:1 LSD.

http://www.tiperformance.com.au/Referen ... -Codes.xls

BPR also list is as an EF ECU

Alrighty got my EL ECU 6DBB For $70 at the local wreckers, cheers for the list though mate, i'd prefer to try and get one that hasn't been bouncing around in the back of a truck, if it'd even make a difference besides time / possible hardware damage.

+1
I would've said XH as well - keep forgetting about the EFII stuff.
