wow this is really cool, i have been doing a little bit of reading on this stuff for the last couple of hours.

something like this would probly help me iron out the gremlins i have since my manual conversion:

large over-rev on start up (1600 cold; 2000 hot)
some mild hunting
too low base idle (although i could probly fix that anyway)
lowered rev limiter (due to the removed speed sender input to stop the auto fuel cut on decelleration)

those sorts of mods would be pretty straight forward would they not?

Simply loading your ECU (via a J3 chip) with a manual tune would fix anything that a manual ECU wouldn't have a problem with.

Remember to plug in the speed sender again.

Wow, I've been away from anything car related for quite some time now (uni). I used to frequent fordforums mostly. When I stopped, the talk of the capa ef-el edit had been going for a few months with not much progress. Now I come back a few years later and there's a tuning solution for around $200.

I'll definately be getting a couple of chips and a writer when they're available.
Is it going to be possible to switch lpg/petrol tuning when changing between fuels?

If I had my hands on a auto EL2 XR8 ECU, could I change the transmission strategy with the J3 thingo and a programmer/burner just by doing the n2 earlier described? I'd be happy to share the definitions for the 185kW ECU.

Your positive on the price and availability of the writer? I don't wanna get stuck with a chip I can't change...

I'll be in for the newest EL XR6 manual bin you have.

You tee up for me to dump the GT manual bin, and Ill pay for your chip for your car!! Ducks guts indeed

BTW I can RT tune for Sydney members should they like a demo on how good this stuff really is, but you will need to be balanced around the mrs demands for me to work on our house

the price may change, but it will still be reasonable. i will look after anyone who buys a chip now.

if you are interested, use the site http://www.techcore.com.au/eec to buy. I need someone to test it :)

would be a good one to get! we are also contemplating the idea of using a 'test mule' programmer once we have a few built to post to people on a loan basis to collect bins. We are still looking for an EF XR6 Auto one, in Vic contact me or NSW contact Jaysen and we can copy the bin in under 10 mins.

Ive gotta fit you in to one of my weekends somehow...... Ive still got a XR8 to tune, too many things to do in not enough hours, god damn concrete encasement of sewer line s**t. Who in thier right mind would buy a house when no one wants to let you do anything with it, ie councils, waterboard etc.

I've since found out that his car is a factory auto with a 5 speed fitted. Is this still an issue? Also, do you guys need EL2 185kW binaries? See what I can do.
