Where abouts are they in melb. Cos I'd be interested in going to them when I get a stage 3 cam?

Cheers

www.cveperformance.com.au - They do most of their tuning in Hallam.

Pass my details onto the shop, if he is interested tell him to drop me a line and I will tee something up.

Always happy to get more tuners out there able to work with our gear.

I know this may have been asked before but will any el 6 ecu be able to be programed with the j3 chip or is there only particular catch codes that can be programed?. Am looking at putting an el ecu into my ed and as far as I have read it looks like you plug it in and go is this correct?.

Yep. Auto seems to be a bit more of a problem though, in my experience, but others have had no problems (see other thread for this).

You have an EL ECU? Just let me know the box code, whether its Auto or Manual, and when you choose Custom pre-programmed put in the box the above and that you want to have smartlock disabled.

Since search is not working properly, I've been trying to find out if the banks are hot swappable via the jumpers, and I stumbled across something on the tiperformance website stating that you can only have 2 tunes on the chip now.

So now my questions are:
Are the banks hot swappable? (eg. swap banks for different spark maps for LPG, nitrous)
and what happened to having up to 8 tunes? not too worried, just interested.

Gday, i got my car dynod today and it made 139rwkw (lost a kw and lost a bit of torque from last time), the person said it was because i put AU injectors in my car which it has made it even more richer than what it already was. He said with a the car properly tuned it should see 150-155rwkw. If i can fix this with the Chip i will buy it today.

Cheers

another basic question...

I dont get it why you need the "box code"...you mean catch code yeah???....
if you are replacing the original bin then what does it matter what the original was???

I.E. as you said, u could for example put an xr6 tune into an ecu that was originally a gli...why would it matter what the original bin was, its being rewritten?

I can see it being an issue if there actual hardware differences ie size of chip but what else?

chip torque does this as well why???

what am i not understanding here

To support AU (as the new chip does), you need 256K bins - which are 4 times larger than a 64K bin (EF/EL). Hence you only get two banks to switch. FYI, using the word "banks" here is a little confusing as the EEC divides the 256K up into banks itself... but i get your point! :)

If you can provide a dyno sheet with RPM & AFR then it can be tuned fairly accurately. If not, i can also adjust the injector slope to match the injectors (and even reg if you have fitted an XR6 reg).

In case there are incompatibilities. Not everyone is as diligent as yourself and some have tried to fit EL chips to EB ecus despite the warnings etc. Hope that clears it up.

Ah yes I see your point, it would get confusing. What is it best to refer to them as? bins? slots?

You didnt say if they are hot swappable or not.

Sorry! They are.

TwEECer uses slots, so at least thats a commonly used term, but we use Tunes, as per the site! Whatever, its all good :)

That's awesome. I was really hoping so as I'll be putting my car on LPG soon and I know the benefit of the correct spark timing for LPG as I had a dedicated LPG XF with a recurved dizzy.

If I wont be doing any tuning myself, is there a need for me to buy the programmer?
Since I wont be using the chip until I get it tuned, I only need to purchase a blank one yes?
