hey jason and everyone else,
Basically i have a DF2 LTD 6cyl(non tickford), which ive converted to manual using the resistor trick etc

i'v burned the EF XR6 manual def and binary (unchanged) onto my chip (atleast i beleive i have, not sure if its correct or not) . iv disconnected the battery, pulled out my PCM, taken the covers off, cleaned the surface the chip connects to (atleast i think its as clean as i can get it?). put it all back together blahblah.
plugged the chip in and reconnected the battery. so far all good, everythings the same except on my high series IC it normally illuminates what gear the box is in(PRND321) but now this is blank.
problem its got crank but no fire. then ill disconnect the battery, pull the chip back out and it works fine again. so, there's nothing wrong with the car, just when i install the chip

is there a way to check and confirm that the definition and binarys are definately on the chip? or maybe i havent cleaned the surfaces properly yet. but yeh thought i could get a good opinion?

cheers guys

uh.....im fairly certain you only burn the bin to the chip

the def is for the tuning software...it stays on your PC

Hey there,

Going to assume you have issues with the cleaning as that's what most do. Did you follow the guide that you were emailed? Did you buy the chip though my site or through ebay?

At any rate, read the guide for cleaning the port and send me a PM if you have any more problems. Also let me know if the fuel pump or thermos run flat out when you have the chip in and ignition on.

There is a verify function in TunerPro which you should use after each burn.

Cheers,

Jason

ahh i wasnt aware of the verification process either. ill have to read the cleaning steps again, i might have f**k up.. :| i hope its not bad to clean it with acetone (cue being thrown eggs at for being an idiot)
as per the definition not going onto the chip, will the EF xr6 manual binary work on the EF auto pcm? it would have different parameters :S im very confused now..

Hi Mark,

There is an installation guide for the chip for a reason! Acetone is not a good idea as the pcb could possibly react with it. Please read the guide and follow it carefully.

The EF bin will work fine on an Auto PCM. You will need to use the correct def (N4MG30) if you make any changes, otherwise you will corrupt the bin and go into LOS mode (as per the tuning guide).

Guys, the programmer solution is for advanced users only, who have the know how, patience and equipment to DIY tune their car. This is precisely why we offer the pre-programmed chip service, and why dealers such as CVE offer a dyno tuning service! If you have an interstate tuner you would like to use, let them know about our products.

BTW Mark, you didnt answer my question either :)

Guys,

Few minor updates to the site. Also, please make sure that if you're using our products that you add your car to the owners gallery! http://www.tiperformance.com.au/owners_gallery.php

Cheers,
Jason

It's all good. I am looking at including a sticker/note to check the site before use, along with a stubby holder or some other kind of "merch" - but have to find a way to keep the costs down. As you can probably imagine, there aint much margin in this gear!

Just thought id drope a line, will be updating my Gas tune soon as the following difference will be made to the car, Majoy head porting, compression, Changing to a gas research kit, and finlay proper springs and a good general head reco, so hopefuly i shall have some feed back to give and maybe a custom tune to put up on the site, i plan to have it properly dyno tuned, but i will take my laptop to hte guy with the tuner and software and make him do the tune from that. then will post it up for all to enjoy and study :-D

I hope to make some Major increases from 115rwkw...

Oh and to add found out that 115rwkw was made without the runners opening up... go figure. tip of the day keep a really close eye on vacuum lines, and people if the car runs rough the Ockham's Razor logic is always the best way in car engine diagnostics. if it looks like a vacuum leak, runs rough and has all the signs THEN IT IS.

oh and a t5 manual is next as i keep killing my auto. hopefuly it will last long enough to get a good comparitive dyno result done post work.

keep the improvements coming jason :P smartlock disable makes this chip even more a MUST HAVE.

I have some news guys - I may be able to offer a discounted DIY tuning package, including a WBO2 sensor, controller, display, along with a TI Performance programmer and chip. I will be partnering with a well known WB controller company to offer this package.

Can I have a bit of a show of interest to see who would be interested in purchasing such a kit? The price will be in the vicinity of $550 - though there are still a few things to be done to sort out a final price. This is a fair whack off retail and will include logging functionality (2x inputs + RPM + VSS) and everything needed to DIY tune an EA-EL Falcon.

For customers who already have purchased one of our combo kits, I may be able to offer a discounted WBO2 sensor, controller, display kit too.

If you are interested please let me know! If interest is good I may start a new thread on this.

Cheers

There are no definitions for EA. You need to use an EL ECU. Did you not read this before you spent your hard earned money?! :)
