I've finally got my budget club track car going with the custom tune Jason set up for me and WOW! I can't believe how much difference a small cam (1673) and the the J3 chip has made. I am very impressed! Next step is a dyno run, so I can get a more accurate custom tune done.
It had its first day out on Sunday at Sandown and it went very well, I was surprised on what cars it was making ground on along the straights (of course it doesn't stop or turn very well yet...) I'll post some times when they are published.

Ended up doing a best time of 1:40.53, not really sure how bad that was.....

There were a swag of 911's, 944's, GTR's, EVO's, and a few exotics like a Ferrari 355 & a Dino, Maserati's, M3's & a few Audi's. Was pretty impressed about catching and passing a R32 GTR though........

I know this is not a track thread, but the times are recorded here:

That would of been awesome to race, I dont think racing in my auto would be that great though.

Cheers,

Was a lot of fun, fairly inexpensive too.

I ran it a Winton a few months ago, dead stock with the auto still in it, actually wasn't too bad. Did a 2 min flat there.

Why do you need a manual ECU anyway?

Hi Jason...

I'm getting pretty close to having my M90 supercharger setup up and running and wanted to get your advice...

Fuel system at present:
- Standard injectors.
- EL Ghia tickford ECU.
- Walbro 255LT 342 fuel pump.
- 1:1.12 rising rate fuel reg
- Gas, currently mixer ring type but will be looking at this after the charger is sorted.

I was going to order a 1:8 rising rate regulator but thought I'd better ask you as If I can edit the fuel maps then I can increase the timing on the injectors or something to up the fuel as needed.

The M90 is positive displacement and has boost from idle so there is no "spooling up".. it's just there..

any thoughts mate?

regards

frank

plenty of LPG spark maps around, you can suck out a tickford one or use mine (suited to LPG / premium)

Hmm, a 1:8 reg will be a good bet to get you close to start with, but ideally you will want to be able to tweak this, especially the spark map. As i've said elsehwere on here you will need either the reg or larger injectors - you cant magically get more fuel out of them with the tune, you just get closer to 100% duty cycle.

Personally I think im about to buy a set of 36lb injectors off ebay, there are a few people selling sets for <$300. They are EV6 too so should get better atomisation.

If the J3 chip doesn't work, just unplug it, it doesn't (and can't) do anything permanent to the ECU.
