Generally if the fuel pump primes (and doesnt stay on) and the thermos dont stay on with the ignition in ON engine OFF then the ECU / Chip is OK. The chip wont interfere with starting.

PM me with a bit more info about the application (i.e. what car, what changes since it was running, etc) and we'll see if I can help.

I am very interested in your j3 chip. My engine is running the 977B Wade cam, some head work, more comp. bigger throttle body etc.
The engine idles good until the thermo fans kick in. The idle hunts up & down until i tap the peddle & then the idle is good again. Will your j3 chip fix that?
I will be buying the custom j3 chip to get more power & torque out of my engine (if possible).
I do have dyno pappers with afr also torque & power readings are in kilometers not in rpm. Will this be fine with you?
Could you please advise me the next step in purchasing your custom j3 chip, what information is needed, how much & payment.
Cheers
Racer.

Hi there,

Yes, the should be able to be fixed. KM is OK, but RPM is more accurate - is the car auto or manual, what diff gears etc? an approx translation to rpm would be handy.

More information and purchasing is all at http://www.tiperformance.com.au.

Cheers,
Jason

Power/econ is just a Transmission shift map switch. You could rewire the power button to the bank switch function to achieve this, if you wanted.

Hey guys,

Have just completed a few minor updates to the site. Have been doing a few interesting tunes of late, including:

- A tune for an EF track mule, for a guy off Fordmods (this was actually done a while back but I just put up the photos @ http://www.tiperformance.com.au/owners_ ... =6&limit=3
- A tune for a AU 6 Cyl conversion into a Landcruiser, running EF ECU (Manual, no BEM/smartlock etc)

Also had some enquiries about EFI conversions in Mustangs, etc. Good to see people thinking outside the square!

Haven't seen much interest in the wideband kits, have probably sold 5 total which is surprising given I sell them cheaper than TechEdge! If you are interested, check out the site. I can do deals on other TechEdge gear, if people are interested send me a PM.

Also, if you have one of our chips & your car is not currently on the Owners Gallery, please contact me!

Cheers,
Jason

Can't promise anything, but we are slowly progressing when time permits. I purchased an AU ECU & loom today to do some bench testing and perhaps get it running in my EF.

If you own an AU2/3 and one of our chip & programmer units and are happy to do some testing send me a PM. Access to a WDS is preferable as 3 failed attempts to start the car in a row makes the car not start. I am yet to hear from anyone as to any workaround for this.

Are there any benefits to using the EL ECU to control the auto trans rather than the TCM in EA/EB1's? Can the transmission be tuned to any degree (shift points, line pressures)?

We don't have the definitions for the trans stuff well enough worked out yet. However the EL trans mapping is streets ahead of the earlier ones, and is much much better to drive around town. It will kick into first easier, can shift 2 gears at a time, and just generally behaves a bit better up hills etc.

I have had issues running my brothers EBII auto on an EL auto ecu (I think the auto is a bit sus), but have seen plenty of EAs, EBs and EDs on this forum running the EL ECU to control the trans without issue.

Cheers,
Jason

I'll finally be in a position to get some of your gear early next year. The house is nearly finished which means money for the car. I've been looking at the tech edge stuff for a couple of years now and its good to see that you're selling it too for a complete package..

Hey there

Got the chip an installed it but for some reason it is going into LHM, this is happening because the chip is not making proper contact I guess?

Cheers!

 Jason what a chip. You are a legond. Idle fixed & revs alot smoother through out the rev range. Next is dyno to see the differance in power & torque. Very, very happy with product, service
& putting up with me. Thank you again.
A must upgrade to every body in FORD E series land. :D
