Glad you're a happy camper. Don't forget to add your car to the owners gallery! http://www.tiperformance.com.au/owners_ ... er_add.php

Not wanting to be a pest, but when will you guys have the tuning guide bit for the V8 MAF based cars? I haven't seen Jaysen here for some time either, will he be compiling it?

Yeah, I don't know what's happened to Jaysen, haven't heard from him in a while!

There are HEAPS of tuning guides for the V8s online, have a look around. If you feel like contributing to a local one, be my guest! :)

Cheers,

Yeah, I've found a heap online too and have been reading away, however most of the US 5.0 guys use tweecer RT and eec analyser and what not to do their datalogging etc. Jaysen did offer to tune mine himself but he didn't say how. From memory I think he said he used a wideband hego, maybe inovate. Love to pick his brain right now for an aussie 5.0 perspective.

Off to google I go for more insight

The same principles apply. The main difference from a six is logging MAF volts not MAP and tuning MAF Transfer not VE.

Yep, disable the MAF and have the EECIV measure load via the TPS and revs I guess. The bloke doing the Raptor superchargers has a mate who tunes V8 Falcons like that.

I wouldn't mind any info from Tim (or someone with it fitted) as to how they do this. The only way I imagine is to run a late 80s/early 90s Speed Density (MAP based, or "mafless" in marketing terms) binary. I haven't seen this work but would be interested in attempting it if someone had a suitable car in Vic.

Hi Jason. Dynoed my car today.
Made an extra 5 rwkw (146.5 to 151.2) & 16 rwnm (407 to 423). Out performs all over the rev rang.
Air fuel ratio the same as before. Fixed my idle problem aswell.
I am extremely happy with you Jason (T.I Performance) & your product (chip). Keep up the good work. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
P.S I could kiss you right now.

Thanks for the kind words Nick. I might pass on the kiss though! Given you've added a histall since the last run, a 5rwkw peak increase and a better curve all along is a great result.

Your car (and dyno sheet) are on the Owners Gallery here: http://www.tiperformance.com.au/owners_ ... =3&limit=3 . If anyone reading has one of our chips, please use the new Add page to put your car up there!

Cheers,
Jason

Hey, so i have a quick question as i've only just started screwing around with my EL.
I'm going to be installing a shift kit soon, and this j3 chip wont effect that at all right?
Also, i havent done any performance mods to the car except a sports exhaust and it's a futura series, so would this chip allow the car to be tuned to run like an xr6?

actually thats a good question.. can you change the gearbox shift times using the J3? would be awesome to incorporate the shift kit into the ECU using the J3

From what i remember, trans parameters cannot be controlled using the j3. Galapogos will confirm though

Outside of using an XR tune as a base, there's no way to customise the trans control parameters (until someone works on the definition -- they are open remember!).

Cheers,
Jason
