I just had a quick play, I removed the chip and set the TPS to 0.7v KOEO.
I started it and set the idle as low as I could (950 by the instrument cluster)
I reinstalled the chip, started it and it idled the same.
I did a KOEO diagnostic test which gave codes (173, 411,521 and 537) 411 is expected, 521 and 537 (I'm guessing I counted it wrong and it should be 538) are also expected because I forgot to do anything during the test. I didnt run another.
During the test I noticed the idle sounded the same but the needle on the tacho was showing about 750rpm, I switched it off removed the jumper and started it again and it the tacho showed as before (idling around 950).
I think I need to get hold a proper tacho.

Ok, did the test properly this time, and the only remaining codes are 173 and 411.
These codes are repeated whether the chip is in or not.

Also... I found out I'm a bit of a douche. I was checking the voltage of the TPS using the engine as a ground. Turns out back probing is a much better method... lol...[i/]Now[/i] the TPS is set at 0.7V.
Here's me thinking a ground is a ground is a ground... apparently its not.

Its dark and I cbf working under torch light so I will experiment more on Sunday to see if it will now idle lower than before.

I just fitted one of these to my XH that we did the broadband conversion on. I had to use the Auto ECU even though mines a manual. Originally had lots of annoying issues because of this. But this chip has solved 99% of them and I now have awesome power to boot as I had the tune changed up.
Can't recommend the J3 chip highly enough 8-)

Cheers for the kind words! Upload a couple photos and add your car to our site at http://www.tiperformance.com.au/owners_ ... er_add.php

In other news, I finally got my EF dyno'd (tuned with a T.I. Performance J3 chip of course) on the weekend, pretty happy with the result: 207rwkw @ 6psi! For a little more info on the car check out the owners gallery: http://www.tiperformance.com.au/owners_gallery.php?id=1

How are definitions for AU 6CYLS going. I've got an AU2 on duel fuel, I would like to be able do my own custom tune for the LPG and be able to switch back to a petrol tune when needed.

I did have a peak at it on the weekend. I'll need to remove the ecu to read it.

Got an AU I6VCT/A4 Fairmont Ghia here, build date Feb 99 with WACF catch code.
Done a few dumps using the TI F2E but it doesn't look right -there's no Copyright/Hex text in the bin.
Did 10 dumps with key on, off, recleaned contacts and they all match for CRC.
Here's the bin anyhow..

Stock WACF

Any progress on the defs for AU I? The WACD def is fairly incomplete by the looks of it.
Also the WACD bin on the TI site is actually a WACE bin.
I've renamed it and added a description file - might be good to update the site with it :)

Hey Ben!

The AU1 ECUs require soldering of the two link jumpers (join each horizontally) in order to make the port active. Seems like your problem.

There's been a bit of work on AU2 defs but the AU1 has been sitting for a little while - got the basics there though.

I have a pretty much stock EL XR6 manual. Is there any real benefit for me to get into this? From what I understand, its more beneficial when converting auto > manual, or getting XR mapping etc...

So is there anything beneficial to me in this?

I saw THIS on eBay, then came here to see if I could find anything on it....then found this thread.

In your case, there's no benefit in going to another stock pre-programmed chip. If you run Premium fuel then a Custom Pre-Programmed Chip will give you a little more power and economy, even with a stock engine.

Read http://www.tiperformance.com.au/faq.html for a little more info.

Ah yea, thanks...think I might invest in a Custom Pre-Programmed one, as I do run premium fuel.

Over in Scotland for a month, but will be in touch when I get back!

Thanks :)
