Hi mate,
Yep I have a 6DFD I can put on a Pre-Programmed Chip for you. Cheers, Jason

Hey, thanks for the pic!
It's an (aging) LSD but it was singling a bit on that day. A few times I started the burnout with only 1 wheel in the water and one next to it and it wouldn't switch back to twins.

blueprinted wrote: just want to add that TI have another happy customer, I bought a custom pre programmed chip for my cammed AU1 XR8 Auto ex HP. I wasn't sure what to expect but so far it idles smoother, cruises at light throttle better, can spin the wheels off the line now, and i'm still running 91ron fuel on 98ron tune. so I should expect even better performance. for $200 i can't complain at all worst part was being a series 1 AU i had to connect the solder pads and i have never soldered before but it worked, Thanks Jason hey mate i just aquired a j3 chip and i also have an au 1. which way do you solder the pads left to right or top to bottom??? Im stressing about doing damage to my ecu. i checked out the ti website and it told me i may have to solder. can i get some wire and tape it to the board?? cheers

Hi there,
You have to solder, and its left to right as explained in the installation guide. Cheers, Jason

Just read the entire thread, downloaded the TunerPro software, the EL i6 .xdf definitions files and 3 or 4 binaries. Had a bit of of a fiddle and like what I see.
I am very impressed and will order a full system as soon as my head and Cam have been fitted. A question or three. Can I load a performance setup, mild setup, speed limited setup and switch between them on the fly using the rotary switch? If I leave a spare (I'm assuming I have four slots available) can I make adjustments and switch back to one of the other tunes if the changes aren't satisfactory? Can I update the tuning without removing the chip (just a cable)? Thanks Bill |

Hey Bill,
To answer your questions: Yes you can. Yep you can leave one spare for adjustments. And no, you must remove the chip to program it. Cheers, Jason

Hi Jason
Thanks for the reply, I also read the other thread on ECU catch codes and it seems to me that there are many subtle differences applied to different ECU's according to their specific hardware configuration (car options). Played a bit more and was using definition table Hwad3_v6_256K.xdf and get a reasonable simile to what I'd call real data. When I use Hwad3_v6_64K.xdf all of the variable functions are maxed out e.g.- idle speed shows as 16383 rpm and engine displacement shows 10.666. I was led to understand that 64 bit binaries are needed for multiple slots. Is this true? I was also looking for a variable to adjust for diff ratio, as I am running a wagon with a 3.23 diff. I was unable to identify a parameter which could be copied from another binary for the diff, speedo calibration or gearshift points, I use the car for towing and so need to keep the less aggressive shift points and also need to be able to adjust for the diff difference. Is it a matter of copying the installed binary from the ECU and writing a customised copy with the adjusted performance parameters changed and using it as the base for any others? Therefore keeping the standard binary installed and then only adding the changes? Is there a look up table to explain the parameter functions such as L8C082 which seem to define a reference variable function for another parameter to calibrate itself to. Sorry for the dumb questions but I was getting confused looking for something which may not be there. Regards Bill |

When I buy my tuner do you want a copy of the wagon binary? I would think having as comprehensive a set of binaries available would add to the appeal of your product. It's a Feb '98 Futura |

Hi Bill,
As the site says, you need a matching def for the bin; you can't choose any old def and expect the bin to work. To answer your other questions: - You dont need 64k bins for a switch chip, 256k is fine. - There is no diff ratio parameter that I am aware of. The shift points are based on tailshaft rpm. The ECU cannot be used to recalibrate the speedo. I recommend using a sedan bin (non XR6) and fitting the right speedo gear for your diff to get factory sedan shifts. Fitting the right speedo gear and keeping the wagon ECU will result in a non-factory shift combo. - If the variable has no english name it's use hasn't been worked out yet. Read the tuning guides as they are the best source of info on what variables you actually need to alter to tune a car for modifications. - No huge need for the wagon bin; there is not enough demand for me to create a new def to suit. It's possible that it would work with an existing def which may help you. Hope this helps. Jason

hey there i recieved my chip that i bought from a fellow fordmodder today and its installed. I had to solder etc as its an au 1. It also has extractors and 2.2 inch exhaust. It seems to be thumping into gear. i felt a much better response but it was thumping into gear in auto mode, not when i changed manually. It is an auto of course. any tips?
