I'm not sure whether you actually have a T.I. Performance J3 chip as you've bought it 2nd hand. I also have no idea what tune you have on it, so I can't really help diagnose any problems you may be having. Having said all that if the tune was correct for your model you would not be having auto issues unless your transmission was faulty.

If it is a T.I. Performance chip you can get it tuned at one of the dealers at http://www.tiperformance.com.au/dealers.php

Cheers,
Jason

Hi Daniel,

Should be fine. If you want shifts as per a stock XR6 you will need to use the matching speedo sender cog from an XR6.

Jason

Hi

just woundering if this chip will work for a AUII 220kw XR8?

If it does how much would it be for chip with a tune to get a bit more power out of her?

she has moded air box, lukey panel filter and 3 inch catback... if that helps...

cheers

Jason, What fuel setup do you run on your vehicle? Obviously a J3 but do you have larger injectors or a Rising rate reg or something else?

Hi mate,

I have 36lb EV6 injectors (from a supercharged v6 commodore), and a Walbro GSS341 with the stock reg. I have fuel to spare with the current system.

You can read up on my car on the Owners Gallery.

Cheers,
Jason

Do those injectors plug/bolt straight in? I'm looking to turbo a EF/EL to about 6-8psi with hopes of similar power to yours. So all I'd have to change is injectors and fuel pump and you could supply a tune to make it run?

Is this the boost reference technique I've heard about?

Yep, they drop right in.

I could supply a boost mapped tune to get it running, but you would want to check it out on the dyno or with a wideband to make sure everything is A1.

As Sam mentioned a few posts back, probably time for a bit of an update, eh?

As most people on boostedfalcon.net would know, Luke (axeman83) recently cracked 350rwkw on 12psi using the new boost mapped bins on a T.I. Performance J3 Chip.

Great result for Luke and goes to show sometimes limits need to be pushed :) Congrats to Luke, and for more info on the car see the Owners Gallery.

In other news, most Definitions on the site have had an update of some kind since I last posted, so if you have a DIY kit make sure you are using the latest defs for your bin from the Technical Info page. We're also currently working on and testing some transmission related parameters, thanks to Andrew! Initial results have been great, so more info will be available when this is ready. Finally we may be looking to get involved in the CVE dyno day, so stay tuned on that front...

Plenty of chips in stock at the moment so drop me a PM if you need one!

Cheers,
Jason
