You can do this with a J3 Chip, or simply by unplugging the O2 sensor.

excuse my momentary lack of understanding, but why would you want to disable the closed loop function??

Isn't closed loop function like an economy feature? and part of the reason why the falcon just doesn't get into it down low in the rev's?

I'd ultimately want to keep a standard tune and get the J3 chip switch thing on it and have a seperate tune...

o2 sensor aye? I might see how that goes for a little.

Correct me if I'm wrong... The closed loop mapping comes in once you've been sitting on at least 80km/hr for like 10 secs without hard accelerating... Or something of that nature?

Your power curve is not only in the computer programming... Things like your cam, base timing, cam timing, bore/stroke ratio, head flow, valve size, manifold design will all determine where you power is made...

Cheers,
Tim

closed loop is for idle and light cruise economy, over a certain load vs rpm the ecu goes into open loop...

Hey Jason,

Programmer turned up this arvo... Thanks for getting it in the post asap...

Sorted mate...

Dropped the idle speed down to 700rpm with a 750 alternate...

The "drive" rpms do nothing in a manual... I left them at 850/900 and dropped neutrals to 700/750 and in gear, in neutral, ac on, power steering... Couldn't get it to go to the 850/900 rpms...

Also dropping this appears to have restore factory dashpot decay... I'll take it for a burn tomorrow and see how it feels... Now that I have the ability I may increase the rate even more and see what becomes of it...

On a side note... Just fiddling around the rev limiter (purely for the sake of wasting time) I couldn't get it to work... Set the neutral one because that was the rpm idle that worked... And no go... The hysteresis is what it needs to drop by once it cuts in before it will rev again from memory... So does that sound right? Or it wasn't really a working feature?

In the mean time I'll keep fiddling... More tomorrow when it warms up a bit... Got the chatters happening...

Also... Was checking out the 3DAC (ED) Bin... I can't see any table values in it... So either I've got the wrong def (not many to choose from) or the bin is empty/incomplete? I must be doing something wrong... If you want a read of a 3DAC I have one because that is what was in my car... Will just need to purchase that read adaptor thingo off you if you want the read?

Cheers mate,
Tim

Manuals are a bit of a bummer actually...

The "drive" rev limiter is the one that applies to a manual...

When you set it it limits both neutral revs and in gear revs...

Thought it may have been nifty to have a rev limiter in neutral and none (or much higher) in gear limiter...

Doesn't look as though I can make it work though...

Will continue to fiddle regardless... :D

Cheers,
Tim

Check your trans wiring against a factory manual wiring diagram :)

Should be identical... :? It is a factory 5 speed... Is there something I can add in to make it work?

Cheers,
Tim

That matt black ute looks insane. Is that painted that way or is it done in vinyl?

Pretty sure it's vinyl, Shav.
