Does this work with LPG systems? Would it be ideal for a straight gas setup?

Hi Damoo,
Yes it can alter the spark side along with idle, limiters etc for a straight LPG setup. Cheers, Jason

Awesome, so basically what we have here is lots of the goodies of an aftermarket ECU but using the factory ECU?
I have an EL Fairmont Ghia and I was wondering if it would be possible to keep the speed sensitive power steering but change the ROM for a manual ECU when I eventually convert to manual? |

Yep, thats it!
Previously.we couldn't keep SPSS with a manual, but as of recent times we can do this too. Cheers, Jason

What are the benefits of using a manual ROM vs an auto ROM with resistors?

Better idle control, rev hang, and no fault codes are the main reasons.
Cheers, Jason

hi, interested in getting a J3 chip for my car - roughly how much improvement could I expect from the chip with the following setup?
97 EL, 5spd 977B cam, extractors, 2.5" exhaust, slightly modified intake car has had some issues with a flat spot around 3200-3500 rpm, and last time it was on the dyno (different but similar cam, so not much help) was running really rich & around 140rwkw, but generally idles OK... could the chip help with the flat spot problems? cheers

Hey mate,
With that combo you should see some good power and economy increases, especially in the midrange. I normally expect 5-10% in the top end. The flat spot sounds like it is close to the BBM switch (3800rpm). Normally this can be mostly tuned out but there is always some change around this point. Cheers, Jason

Hey guys been using a TI J3 chip on my el for a while but I have a few questions about other uses. Is it possible to use a chip loaded with an EF bin in a AU Series 1 smartlock car, Reason being able to control the shift pattern which does not appear in the AU def ?. Also I was wanting to look at the Tickford LPG spark adv table but when viewing it I only seem to see the normal petrol table I understand there will be dual tables as it was duel fuel so is there a special definition to allow viewing of the lpg tables ?.

Hi Maca,
No, you can't use an EF bin on an AU. The chip will work fine in an AU though, with an AU bin. LPG spark maps are available in most if not all bin/def combos. Send me a PM with what bin/def you're trying to look at. Cheers, Jason

I've searched Fordmods for the answer on this, but can't find it, so forgive me if this has already been covered.
With the J3 chip (EF XR6 auto), are we able to control the acceleration enrichment (or "tip-in") - ie, can we unlock the function that adds fuel depending on how fast the TPS is changing? I can't find it in any of the maps on my chip. If the enrichment is built-in and can't be adjusted, does it tend to over-fuel or under-fuel on acceleration with a mildly modified NA 6? Thanks a bunch.

Tip in hasnt been unlocked in the definitions, nor have i seen a need to use it. I havent noticed any problems with it over or underfuelling.
Cheers, Jason

Should be simple to achieve. Just need a NL SPSS V8 box code to start from and to tweak the required parameters.
Cheers, Jason
