Anyone know what these wires that have been spliced into are coming from the ECU?.They are 2 thick dark blue wires joined onto 1 thin dark blue wire on the ECU.I was thinking maybe for the oxygen sensors but not real sure.ECU code is 4DED from 5.0 EF.

Can you get a pin number off the plug? Then check this out:

Attachment:
EF-EL Computer Wiring Pin Outs.xls [24.5 KiB]

The pin numbers are witten in the back of the plug...

Pop that black plastic thingo off and pull the wires aside and with the use of very good eye-sight (or a microscope) they are written down in there somewhere (they are on my ED anyway)

Cheers,
Tim

it should only be one thick wire goes to a thin one, unwrap the tape and have a look as ford do that for the trip computer and everything else which requires the data line

Could only suggest seeing if you could follow it...

If it wasn't a dash out job to add that wire, trying popping out the glove box and start following it and see if you can successfully follow it to its destination... If its been a rough add in job, chances are you'll be able to see it through most of its length and it wont be taped up and hidden with the factory looms...

Other than that I don't know how else to help sorry...

Cheers,
Tim
