ive owned my EF Fairmont aabout 4 years.. and im on the verge of having installed its 4th fuel pump.. -All times done at either the Ford dealer or the local Caltex.. Ive toataled 140,000km in four years.. is three fuel pump failures too much? -nearly to be soon be running its fourth "New fuel pump".. i get the tank cleaned out every time and a new pump installed but its allways the same crap.. -"dirty fuel blocking/clogging the pump".. I only fuel up at "Woolworths and coles fuel stations using "Premium 98 octane fuel".. is there anything apart from the stock pump i can install thet slots into the origanal position of the stock pump? -say a heavier duty one? are EL and AU fuel pumps the same? Can they be retro fitted? PS- i never fuel up when a tanker is off loading fuel to by the way.. any ideas would be helpful as im at "My wits end" of my cars unnateral appetite for fuel pumps.. cheers..

Hmm good s**t, im in the hunt for a new fuel pump as we speak...

Are the Walbro 255gph pumps much better than the stock ones? And what sort of advantages you get? Just more reliable?
