theres a sticky floating around with the info in it. Mostly the mod is done with a BBM conversion to give better drivability & economy.

Upgrading to the EL ECU on it's own is not recommended.

Yes, it will plug in, but as indicated by 'fifyone', without the matching BBM (Broadband Manifold) there is no real benefit. In fact the timing and fuel delivery mismatch with your current Log Manifold is noticeable.

For ideas on what can be achieved with an EA/ED Falcon, have a look at my build threads.

The links are in my Signature. Most of my mods are light on the wallet, and all have been over time, as money allowed.

Cheers
BenJ

I'd like to correct that... there are benefits without a BBM.

Those include better control of the A/C compressor in high load conditions, better shift patterns for the auto, better idle control, better fuel and spark maps, faster processing speed, thermofan outputs (if you're that way inclined), and more...

The 3800rpm dip in fuel/spark is definitely noticeable but you will still have a much more drivable car on the newer ECU. And with a J3 Chip you can remap the EL ECU to better suit the log manifold and have the best of both worlds.

Given an EL ECU will only set you back $40 on ebay I think it's a worthwhile upgrade.

think of it this way, for a cheap upgrade & learning about i6's, grab a complete manifold assembly from the wreckers (set you back maybe $150 $200?) and an EL ecu & have a play. From what I hear people are quite pleased with the results
