Will the ElmScan 5 work with a BF-GT EEC?

I've been looking at EEC data loggers and so far the ElmScan 5 seems to be the most compatable with various software packages available. It'll also work with TweeCer RT amongst other software programs.

Has anyone any experience with the ElmScan 5 and or "EEC Analyzer" software?

Not sure on ElmScan 5's compatability with the BF EEC's (although I can't see a problem seeing the BA/BF computers are ORB-II complient), but I have been using EEC Analyzer for a while now and it is a very usefull and easy to use package.

What are you planning on doing with the datalogs? it is nice to be able to see what is going on with the engine but unless you have a way of reprograming the EEC, all that info is next to useless.

EDXR8...

really just piece of mind more than anything, and a bit of a learning curve for something to do.

ElmScan 5 comes with with a software program called Scantool. It has the ability to check trouble codes for the cars vechile computer network, body & chassis.... a great way to eliminate dealerships pulling the wool over ones eyes!
