Gday folks,

I'm having a problem with my ED Sprint -

Original ECU is fitted with a J3 chip. Car will start, run ok for about 30 secs and then drop away to a sputtering idle of approx 200RPM, not responsive to throttle inputs.

I have removed the J3 chip and the same thing happens.

Interestingly I drove it a couple of days ago without incident.

Further, the car runs and drives fine with a substitute ECU (fitted with J3 chip).

I have also just received a scan tool from Muzza (thanks mate, lovely bit of gear) and it's throwing codes

15 - Keep alive Memory power problem

34 - All tests EVP Voltage above closed limit

96 - PCS Solenoid fault.

All I can summise is the original ECU is faulty.

Any thoughts?

I've got a replacement ECU on the way. Bearing in mind it runs fine with a different ECU I can't help but think the original one must be cactus. I'll report back in a few days

Well good news. New computer works fine, even with the J3 chip installed so I'll call that a win.

don't throw away the original ecu as it "may be" able to be repaired.

Thanks mate yeah I have trouble throwing stuff away at the best of times. I'll send it away to hopefully get it fixed when I can. Just glad I got her going again without having to bend over at the local workshop
