Hi guys,

So as some may remember, I've struggled with engine problems since fitting a TFS top end kit. Some of it will be down to tuning but I can FEEL there is something just not right with the car.

The other morning I was listening to the fuel pump and it sounded like it was surging, up and down up and down etc. It's a 255lph unit.

While this is going on, my starter motor fails to engage quite frequently. The relay in the dash clicks etc but nothing else, then it will just decide to work.

Brand new battery, voltage must drop, sets alarm off then battery drains over night.

Sound like a big electrical fault somewhere?

I would agree that you have a big voltage leak somewhere, Was the TFS top end the last thing you did before the problem presented itself? How are your earths as well?

Yes, TFS top end was the last thing I did.

It has also had a bad door ajar sensor, the switch in the door jam is live (sparks when contact with body) and the light on the dash indicator is constantly showing open/closed (alternating flashes etc). I've tried to trace the wires back from the door but can't really find anything.

Earths are good, engine bay earths are all solid.

I heard that there was a tool you can get to find out roughly where voltage leaks were in the car, is this true?

had this problem with mine. It was the connector in the bottom of the B Pillar.

Good luck

Cheers, I'll take a look. Do you mean the connector in the door or somewhere under the carpet?

It is actually in the B pillar. Follow the wire from door ajar sensor to where in goes in pillar. The wire goes down the pillar there is from memory an eight pin plug in the bottom of pillar can be a bit hard to ger to. HAve a look through my thread and you will see plug in question.

Wire just goes straight into main loom under carpet, no connector. Even when the door ajar sensor is unplugged it makes no difference, still flashes etc.
