G'day,
I bought a second hand ECU from a mate whos a wrecker, and the catch code is 7DBC, which is down as "MPFI-Auto".
The problem i have here is, writen on it is "EB 4lt, 5speed manaul"

I want this ECU for my EA wagon MPFI 5 speed.
I currently have the 7DAC ECU in it, but the spark advance doesnt work in it..

What ECU do i have?? is it 3, or 4 speed auto??
Thanks
David

Most Manuals have an 'A' as a second letter.

TAB
TAC

etc.

7DBC is an EA 3.9 MPFI Auto

You can put in a modified EL Auto ECU and it will perform a lot better than with any EA / EB / ED ecu.

Hmm.. The modified EL ECU sounds interesting..
What modifications need to be done??
Who does the modifiations??
What, roughly, do they cost to modify??

Also, my car hasnt got smartlock, is this an issue??

Thanks, and sorry about all the questions at once..

David

I've done quite a few EL into EA conversions, basically you use a smartlock bypass and a few other modifications to allow the ecu to run on a manual.
The difference in power and torque over the EA/EB/ED ecu is very noticable.

Ive just got my hands on another ECU, But, once again, am unsure of what it is, and its not on the catch code list..

It is a 0DAC,

90DA-12A650-AC

been told is an EB XR6 manual series 1, no smartlock...But, unsure

Thanks
David
