leave the same one in, and get a J3 Chip, CVE performance should be able to sort you out.

There is not a lot too chose from with the ECU, Tickford XR6 is the better of the ECU.s but will give you little improvement without the other XR parts, ie Head, Cam, Fuel reg. XR6 Auto ECU is set up for 3.45:1 diff, so if used on a 3.08:1 diff then the shift points wil be out. Chipping the ECU is uour only alternative but this woun't give you great performance improvements.
What head do you have on the AU Motor, is it the AU Head or the EF Head. If it is the AU head, is it the HP Motor or the standard XR6 Engine? What gearbox do you have and what is the diff ratio? I assume that it being an EF GLi, that it has the stock pov pack ECU, Auto and 3.08:1 diff. To get better performance from your current engine you will need the to some of the following: 1) 2.5" Cat back exhaust, Extractors, improve the air intake. 2) Cam and headwork. 3)3.45:1 diff. Do these and then chip the ECU. |
