hey guys, looking for a new ECU for my EBII 4.0L.. its just been fully rebuilt, race pistons, 9.6:1 compression, gonna be getting a full exhaust system, extractors, high flow cat, 2 1/2 zorst and 2 straight through mufflers, a stage 2 cam and possibly a bit of a head shave.

now my question is, what cam should i go? how much? and do they tailor make the plug so it plugs straight into the existing ECU loom?

cheers guys

dave

Oh, and by the way, its a manual

hit up alted performance for the cam, go a stage 2 kit, ull need heavier springs but ive heard good things about them, and as far as the ecu goes u can get a unichip or look at the fully customisable ones like wolf3d but they are more for snail power. either way it sounds like fun :D

You would be best off going with an EMS stinger or 8860, or a Wolf 3D V4.
There is someone who will do up a loom so you can plug the 8860 straight in, can't remember his name though. He was on fordforums I think.

As for the cam, I reckon cooki_monsta is probably right about the ALTED Stage 2. The Stage 3 might not have enough clearance with your compression ratio.

Talk with Wade cams regarding the cam, he has good knowledge and plenty of cams to choose from (or a custom grind if you want). And the EMS stinger would be a good option, decent number of features and a good price. The EMS 8860 is am awedsome unit too but the additional features/capabilities may be wasted unless you plan on going turbo later, and even then the stinger will be fine.
