Yer should be fine, but check the 6 auto as the ecu controls everything I don't know about that part of it so give TI a call see what they say as far as I know the QH is for the engine ecu mostly so running a manual box is perfect for it but do your research as always

you can run quarterhorse on e series v8 auto, but you just wont be able to modify or change trans functions..

same with ti chips... in the v8 e series only engine ecu can be tuned as the trans ecu is sepperate

I like the wolfy 3d idea because with the el v8 auto has a separate tcm so wolfy has a sub harness for that so it's a fully customisable all in 1 deal

I know someone who bought an aftermarket ECU for a Eseries. I think he had a mild cam, full exhaust and intake on it, intake manifold and head work. I think it was a Microtech??

Anyhow proud as punch had his car on the dyno and it rattles off a 185hp at the wheels? ahhh errr? :x Arent they around the 160hp at the wheels stock? So he gained 25hp or 17kw for probably $2000 in cost?

I can sort of understand why backyarders have a go at tuning them. They know there is not much left in them and wont spend good money to gain a few kw. May as well save a few bucks add a little timing and thats that.

Looks like your mate spent too much when the ti stuff is very affordable + it sounds like he needs to learn how to tune his s**t properly.

CAN'T USE TI WITH AUTO YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO READ

Just a wild guess but seeing as the tcm is separate it shouldn't matter to the ti chip as long as its flashed with the correct bin for the ecu BECAUSE THAT HOW THE J3 WORKS!.

You need to be able to control the shift points to match the changes in torque / hp from the mods / tune changes if you can't do that then it's a waste of time, also the converter is a electronic lockup type so that needs to be controlled its like having a 5 th gear so a TI is no good for auto v8, I know about the shift kits from shift kits . Com . Au but its not for me like I said I like the wolf 3d plug and play its a ecu /tcm all in 1 deal, nice clean and straight forward logic thinking

OMG. This thread is turning serious.

It was going to be the inaugural winner of a new award.

If the changes are mild then I don't see the need for the wolf ecu regarding the auto, ti will work fine just like the j3 from moates will.

Mild changes would be
-upgrade to explorer intake
-any throttle body size you would care to name
-exhaust system
-head upgrade to gt40p's
-adding 1.72 roller rockers from a series3
etc etc etc, ti & moates j3 will do those fine easily WITH AN AUTO and the shift points wont need changing.

At the end of the day you can see or not see what ever you like I'm not into pissing contests you don't know me or know what I do or don't know so stop telling people that you can't see the need for this or that and stick to your hobby, I'm just saying facts for food for thought its up to the people on here to take the info for whatever they want to do with it.

No no please explain how the wolf is worth it over moates j3 or ti chip's in a mild combo eseries v8, because a lot of people knock them and there basis is that $1000+ aftermarket ecu is worth spending just because its more expensive.

My sight is perfect I know whats worth it and whats not, idgaf what you do but ALL information about every tuning solution should be there in black and white for everyone to see.

I just think a lot of so called workshops have now been put on s**t notice and customers nolonger are at there mercy, this gives the individual power.

Like I also said if you change cars you have a ecu, the wolf only needs a harness change and a map change to work with anything so the idea is to buy it once instead of having to get to know / purchase a new ecu every time you change cars, you being a young fella will probably be getting into other cars

As long as its a falcon that's money well spent (on a ti or j3 or quarterhorse).
