hi guys,
I have found a couple nifty gadgets - for all you DIY guys visit http://www.techedge.com.au - it's a great tool when tuning mitures on engines and its a very affordable price. Please mention my name if you decide to purchase one or many of the WBo2 Lambda / AFR Meters. I have purchased one and also have a altronics High speed A/F meter and doing back to back runs and seems to be mirror image results Works on different types of fuels also and has great potential ! Yeah I have had a Techedge 2AO Wideband and LD02 display for a while now, excellent units IMO and they make tuning a breeze.

I have just recieved a LM-1. I landed it here from the USA for about the same price as the techedge diy kits.
I choose this unit over the techedge because: -It easily supports both NTK and Bosch LSU sensors. -Has good support from the head engineer of the company. -Has a forum -With the RPM kit can log up to 5 extra inputs including RPM. -The Logworks software is fairly useful. -Finally the Techedge guys are aparently having software problems. FYI the techedge supports NTK and LSU sensors (very simple jumper pin), has awesome support via the techedge guys and forum and can log 3 other inputs + rpm with no add ons. Their software has no problems as far as I am aware, I havent had any issues and neither have the others I have talked to, techedge is constantly updating software and firmware so I assume you may be refering to some issues maybe with an alpha or beta firmware update.
But yeah the LM-1 wideband is a very nice unit too, I looked at both and they both seem very accurate and reliable. I went with the techedge because it is australian plus I like the layout much better, I think it is easier and neater to mount. |

If you're using the wideband all the time, then the LC-1 from Innovate motorsports can't be beaten. I payed $280 for mine complete with sensor and shipping.
If you're tuning through your ECU and it accepts a wideband signal, then you don't need all the external stuff that comes with the LM-1. I don't need a $100 external wideband controller telling me exactally what my laptop is telling me when I plug it into the ECU. |

They aren't hard to setup, just mount the display and controller box and fit the wideband sensor in place of your stock narrowband. The wideband control box has a narrowband output which you connect to the EEC so it still gets the info it requires. How do they work? Well they just give you the exact AF ratio which allows you to tune aftermarket systems much easier and allows you to keep an eye on what your fuel system is doing (very important in forced induction setups). |

Yes they are expensive, the Techedge 2A0 I have is $660 but IMO for forced induction or vehicles with aftermarket engine management that you want to tune yourself they are well worth the money |
