Hey guys,
This probably sounds strange but is it possible to wire an OBD-11 port onto a 1992 EB fairmont/falcon loom? as in if i take the OBD-11 port off of a later model falcon and try to wire it into my harness? any info on whether this has been tried before or if it can or cant work is appreciated =) cheers, Joe

the whole OBD-2 things is in the ECU - if you swapped to a later model ECU you could by all means have an OBD 2 port

Thanks Jose,
Yea that makes sense, I am already going to put an EL ecu in it because it's better to tune using my J3 chip. So would anyone have a wiring diagram from an EL that shows where the OBD-11 plug is wired into? Cheers, Joe

I was under the impression that OBD-11 was made mandatory in 1994? What was the first falcon to come out with OBD-11?

(AU has some bastard mixup OBD1.5 setup). The answer is, no you can't add one to your EB, the question ow is, what were you wanting it for?

data_mine is correct as usual my obdII scanner for my bf won't read my au, not that i've tried, I just know it won't work.
On the sweeter side of the au it does have the dash minor diagnostics. Not sure about el's.

ahk thats annoying haha.. the main reason i want the OBD2 port is beacuase i want to get the Innovate Motorsport OT-2, this displays and records engine info via wifi on ur iphone.
i currently have an LM-1 and LMA-3 that i use to view and log data but id prefer it being wireless and on my phone haha. is their possibly a way i can try to wire it up to get this info or is it the modern ecu's that control this info and im just dreaming =S

You're dreaming.
OBD2 is something the ECU itself needs to support. The EEC4 and 5 don't. They use an older less functional diagnostics system.

The AU still has live data output. Monitoring it should be possible as I can do it with my
Carman Scan. |
