Hi,
Quick question. I bought a Wolf 3D (good ole FPV_GTP) but haven't installed it yet, waiting for the engine to be built. After installing the wolf, do I still need to hook up the BEM?? Will using the wolf allow me to disable smartlock and thus use a remote start alarm??? Thanks for any input. D |

Yeah but depends on how you go about the install...
Ive left the eec wired in mine to run the auto and smart lock, so I imagine if you remove the eec then the smart lock goes with it. Could be wrong though, I didnt really want to play with the eec much |

Well... I'm one of the lucky ones with a 5spd... so no need to control an auto box. But I was under the impression that the BEM is also required for things like the power windows and locking. Since I'm going to remove the EEC completely, there is no need for a signal from the BEM to let the ECU start the ignition and fuel.
Anyone else shed some light?? |

If you remove the EEC, the only portion of smartlock you will lose is ignition immobilisation. You will still have starter motor immobilisation.
You can run a bypass to avoid the starter motor immob. by going direct from the ignition barrel to the starter relay. (just cut/join the starter in/out wires on each side of the BEM/Smartlock module). Cheers
