Hi all, was looking at options.....
Log manifold to BBM, but do I wish to keep original ECU, which I believe is the same as a EBII (Xr, 3.45diff, better tune etc) or is the basic el ecu just as good as my xr6 ecu? or has anyone used the Jaycar kit to switch the butterfly in the manifold and kept the original ecu? On that, how does the Jaycar kit, work, as in how does it sense the 3800 rpm point? Sorry guys a heap of questions. |

Yes, it is worth it. I installed the BBM recently on my EL engined EB with Log manifold recently.
As for ECU, is yours an Auto? You can use the RPM switch from Jaycar. It would use a wire from the coil to source RPM. I would try and source an EL Fairmont Ghia ECU, as this has the Tickford Maps, and the BBM switching built in. Alternatively, you could use a GLi EL ECU, and get a J3 Chip with the XR Tunes on it. You should also note that your Log Manifold Fuel Pressure Reg will not work on the BBM. You would need to source the correct Ticky Fuel Pressure Reg to work with the BBm. BenJ

Cheers thanks for that, I forgot the fairmont ghia has the XR engine, and could use that ECU.
